Somatic Movement & Embodiment
Facilitated by: Mariah Peloso, LCSW, RYT-200
Somatic Movement & Embodiment sessions support nervous system regulation, stress reduction, and a deeper mind-body connection.
Through a combination of psycho-education and body-based practices you’ll learn practical tools to support emotional balance, mental clarity, energy, and overall well-being. Through our sessions you will gain insight into how stress impacts both the mind and body.
Sessions focus on accessing and releasing stress stored in the body while also expanding your window of tolerance—supporting your ability to respond to life’s stressors with greater resilience, ease, and stability over time.
Each session incorporates gentle somatic practices such as breathwork, mindful movement, and body awareness, along with integrative approaches informed by trauma-conscious yoga principles, brainspotting-informed awareness, parts work, and expressive arts, as appropriate to your needs.
Private sessions are fully customizable and designed to complement your existing wellness routine, including therapy, medical care, or other mind-body practices.
What to expect in a session
• Brief check-in on how you’re feeling physically and emotionally
• Gentle psychoeducation as needed to support awareness
• Guided somatic practices (movement, breathwork, body awareness)
• Integration of modalities such as trauma-conscious yoga principles, brainspotting-informed focus, parts work, or expressive arts (as appropriate)
• Time to process and reflect on your experience
Best For: Individuals seeking a body-based approach to stress, emotional regulation, and overall well-being
How This Differs From Talk Therapy & Group Yoga Classes
Somatic Movement & Embodiment sessions are designed to complement, not replace, talk therapy, medical care, or yoga classes.
This work serves as an additional layer of support that bridges mind and body, helping you more fully integrate insights gained in therapy. Sessions are fully individualized and centered on nervous system regulation and embodied awareness, rather than solely verbal processing or structured group movement.
Together, we work to expand your window of tolerance, building your capacity to respond to stress with greater resilience, ease, and stability over time. This allows you to connect more directly with your internal experience and align physical practices with what you’re feeling and working through in the moment, supporting a more integrated mind-body experience.
